The CSGW has supported WASH in HCF activities with partners in various countries:

  • Zambia: World Vision Zambia used the WASHCon tool to collect data from 53 healthcare facilities in 3 provinces in Zambia. Data from the tool is being used to prioritize and plan improvements and advocate for WASH in HCF at the national and sub-national levels.
  • Malawi: Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP)’s Synod of Livingstonia used the WASHCon tool to assess 15 healthcare facilities in the Northern Region. Data from the assessment has been used to drive the WASH FIT approach to facility upgrades.
  • Uganda: World Vision Uganda assessed 52 healthcare facilities using the WASHCon tool, while UNICEF Uganda assessed another 150. The two groups are planning interventions based on the gaps identified through the tool.
  • Afghanistan: World Vision Afghanistan will be assessing more than 100 healthcare facilities in Spring 2018 with the WASHCon tool.
